Chula Vista / Plans & permits

A head start with
preapproved ADU plans.

Chula Vista’s program lets you start with a building plan the city has already reviewed. You still need documents for your property, utility connections and site conditions.

What does preapproval cover?

Preapproval applies to the building plan. Site placement, setbacks, utility connections and other property-specific requirements still need review. Ask the vendor what is included in its service and who prepares the site submission.

Confirm the current eligibility criteria, accepted plan version and site restrictions with Chula Vista before relying on an expedited schedule.
